What makes me a great caregiver is that I pay attention to details. I do exactly what I'm told, asked and also give advice according to my expertise and I tell the truth about what is needed when it matters. I first started working with elders within my monastery taking care of their basic needs and taking them back and forth to doctor's appointments and following their doctors care of plan. That transmitted to my professional work life as a certified nursing aide, as I work in the nursing homes and also in private home settings. It brings me joy to see those who are in need of help receive the assistance that they need without taking away their dignity and also giving them the extra help that's necessary.... at the same time allowing them to do what they can for themselves. I have a broad range going from helping those with terminal illnesses all the way to those who just need extra assistance around the house. There is no job too big or too small for me to do.

Skills & Certifications: Tracheotomy / Ventilation, Vision and Eye Disorders, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Respiratory Disorders, Post Surgery Recovery, Palliative Care, Orthopedic Care, Neurological Disorders, Multiple Sclerosis, Depression, Hospice Care, Home Health Care, Hearing Disorders, Gastrointestinal Disorders, Diabetes, Dementia, COPD, Cardiovascular Disorders, Cancer Recovery, Alzheimer's Disease, Arthritis, ALS

I believe a caregiver should be someone that the patient can trust undoubtedly, and be able to bond with. After all we spend so much time with someone in their home everyone needs to be comfortable. I don't just see caring for people as a service but an honor. To be able to get to know someone's life, likes, dislikes and story all make this type of work extremely rewarding. **Will be available full time any hours after May first. Until then times will need to be set up in advance. My other job is 2-10 pm.

Skills & Certifications: Blood Disorders, COPD, Arthritis, Cancer Recovery, Vision and Eye Disorders, Tracheotomy / Ventilation, Stroke, Respiratory Disorders, Parkinson's Disease, Renal and Urological Disorders, Post Surgery Recovery, Palliative Care, Gastrointestinal Disorders, Neurological Disorders, Multiple Sclerosis, Hospice Care, Home Health Care, Hearing Disorders, Depression, Cardiovascular Disorders, Diabetes, Dementia, Alzheimer's Disease, ALS

I am a great caregiver because I take my time with people and I care about the person I am caring for. Watching CNA's care for my grandpa when he was in the hospital is what me into caregiving. Because seeing someone care for my grandpa and help him with the things he needed gave me and my family a lot of relief knowing that when we left to go home he was taken care of and we didn't have to be there 24 hours. It made me want to be able to do that for other people and their families, give them relief and comfort knowing their loved one is being taken care of even if they're not there. I love being a caregiver because I love to help people and it makes me feel good to help people with whatever they need without making them feel like a burden or like they are less of a person because they need a little help.

I became a caregiver to help elderly people complete daily activities so they can feel good about themselves. I also took care of my own mother for 10 yrs. confined in a wheel chair due to a stroke. Being a caregiver gives me a good feeling about myself for the help I give out. I am a Cancer suvivor of 25 yrs. and that is something I hold very dear to me, it was a long year of treatments and battleing and I'm proud to say I'm alive. I'm a single mom of a 19 yr. old son and I love kids, tried daycare but working with seniors is my calling I believe.
