I started my journey as a caregiver earlier in life when volunteered in high school at the local Hospice center. I did not know then that I would come to love and enjoy helping people as much as I do. It took a while to get my foot in the door, but I found a lovely family in Florida that gave me the opportunity to assist their father, whom I cared for for years. Now that I've moved to NY. I'm finding new opportunities to help people again. Through volunteering at church, or lending a helping hand, it brings me so much joy to help others.

I have experience in the medical field as well as a volunteer firefighter with my local department. I am bls certified. I enjoy most about being a caregiver is allowing the person to remain in their home while helping them accomplish a good quality of life

I am a 42 year old mother of 4 (older children). I live in the Mastic/Moriches area. I'm a well experienced CNA since 2004. Many years ago when my oldest child was 4 we found out she had kidney disease. She had surgeries and other medical procedures. She sees many doctors and specialists. I learned a lot from her illness and it made me want to get into nursing. I started off in a nursing facility and worked all units, short term and long term. I got hands on experience with many medical procedures from watching and helping the nurses and doctors. It added onto my skills as a CNA. After 12 years I decided to go to private home care. If a person is able to stay in their home I believe it's truly the best decision. I've done pretty much everything in home care over the past several years. No task is too big or small.
