I started my caregiver journey at 16 years old because of my passion to help others. Nearly 30 years later, my journey continues. My skillset includes PT, OT, and ADL Assistance, Medication Administration/reminders, light housekeeping, meal prep, and companionship. I work well with Dementia/Alzheimer's inflicted consumers. I have been certified as a CNA, PCA, and Med Tech. I was also the Site Coordinator of Mercer County for Guardian Home Specialties.

I am a natural caregiver as caring for others is what my purpose in life is. I care deeply for those around me and strive to encourage others to maintain a sense of independence through empowerment. I love being able to help and have been working with L'Arche as a caregiver for 12 years now. My favorite aspects of being a caregiver are around meals and hospitality. I like setting up a warm, welcoming space and making a delicious and healthy meal for others. I have two children that I love sharing my life with at the moment and am thrilled to be the one at home with them. I am very spiritual and like to find the gifts of those around me and nourish them. I love to read, sing, and play games (word games especially), but mostly I love really taking the time to listen to someone and get to know him/her well.

I started caring for people since before I even could understand what it was. My little sister is severely autistic. I would help her with her activities of daily living everyday. When I got out of high school in 2010 I started working as an STNA in Ohio. I have worked in multiple nursing homes, home care agencies, group homes, and day programs. I can't say I have seen it all but I have seen a lot. I learn something new everyday and I love to learn. I have alot of experience from alzeimers and dementia to schizophrenia. Being a care giver gives me a great deal of purpose. Helping people gives me a sense of joy. One personal achievement I have made by myself would be starting as a care giver in a group home and got promoted to a site supervisor.

I prefer 3rd shift since that's typically what I'm used to and it's easier with my daily schedule. Hi! I have been taking care of living beings and organics my entire life. I get true joy in helping others. I am that person that would give you the t-shirt off my back or my last dollar to help. I recently moved my grandfather from New Castle, PA down here to Corning, OH after my grandmother had passed away. He was not being taken care of properly in Pa. He had several major medical issues going on. When I got him in my care he was 86 lbs. Within 6 months I had him up to 125. His highest weight was 154 before the last month or 2 of his life and he started to go downhill. He struggled with emphysema, COPD, CLL, prostate and urinary problems, a slew of heart problems, dementia, hearing loss and he was very combative when trying to get him to eat or bath. But he lived the best life he had left in my care until he passed this past October. I had him for 2 years. I am a very intelligent individual whom loves to garden, homestead, live off the land, read a ton, craft, cook and bake. I am a sewing enthusiast and make my own jewelry. I was told about this job option by a friend of mine who works for the company and she thought I would make a perfect fit for it since I am moving back home. I want to be able to care for more individuals as I did my grandfather. I am experienced in nursing home/assisted living care. In specific dementia and Alzheimer's. I was certified in med pass. My children are growing like weeds and they won't be home forever. I have several personal achievements. My most important one is that I am appointed by the State Supreme Court of Ohio to serve abused and neglected children and be their voice in court. I own a small business owner and opened up my own bakery. I did that and am closing/selling my business to move back home to be closer to family. I have lived all around the world and served proudly for our country. I am very knowledgeable about different cultures. I do have Ohio State & Federal clearances and background checks available.
