Hello my name is Alexandra I love being a caregiver I like the fact of creating a bond with a family or a client taking care and helping elderly is what I love. I am most proud of my work and how families love me and the residents and family members I have built bonds with and still talk to til this very day.

I am a natural caregiver as caring for others is what my purpose in life is. I care deeply for those around me and strive to encourage others to maintain a sense of independence through empowerment. I love being able to help and have been working with L'Arche as a caregiver for 12 years now. My favorite aspects of being a caregiver are around meals and hospitality. I like setting up a warm, welcoming space and making a delicious and healthy meal for others. I have two children that I love sharing my life with at the moment and am thrilled to be the one at home with them. I am very spiritual and like to find the gifts of those around me and nourish them. I love to read, sing, and play games (word games especially), but mostly I love really taking the time to listen to someone and get to know him/her well.

My gift in life is Service to others. I became an STNA from Auburn career center years ago, I worked for Lake home health at Lake East hospital.Im also a Medicaid provider of 9 years.I managed an Assisted living in Mentor for almost 10 years.I work as a personal,private, caregiver to Seniors in their homes...a multitasker,organizer,reliable, problem solver,that loves to get things done.I like to make my clients lives better by encouraging new activities,and fun into their lives.People need Love, hugs,feeling safe,attention,and laughter.Caregiving is about changing people's lives.Making the end,better than the beginning.Taking time,listening is most important. Being there,when feeling lonely. We all need to be loved,and feel comfort,trying to make my clients day better when I'm with them...

Some personality traits that I have and have been told by fellow coworkers is that I am a sweet caring and loving person. I make sure my job is done and that I live to make sure that my patients are satisfied with their care and well taken care of. Also I am always on time when needed. What attracted me to be a health care giver was when my grandma had to get open heart surgery and I helped take her to the bathroom and everything else, then from there my mom got diagnosised with lung cancer and just recently passed away last year. What I enjoy most about being a care giver is seeing my patients smile because it lets me know they are happy and they enjoy my company. My personal achievements that I am proud of is being employee of the month a few times at the hospital and having patients nominate me for being a good care taker.

I became a caregiver in 2001 because I like to take care of people. When I moved back to Ohio with my daughter. We moved in with my grandmother. This is where I got my start in home care. I remember how my grandmother went from a very active person to someone who needed help with everything. I loved taking care of her and helping her be the person she used to be. It is what I was born to do. I hate to see people in pain of any kind. I believe there is worse pain in the pain of going from a independent person to a dependent person. I like to help people lead full happy lives no matter how long or short they have. Everyone deserves to live their life with dignity and respect. I look at everyone I have taken care of as family. They are my grandmother or my grandfather and I treat them just like I would have treated my family. I don't want anyone to feel like they are a burden on their family. I want to help them feel like they are a vital part of the family. I went and finally took the STNA classes last year (2013) but I have been doing everything I learned in that class long before I took the class.

I truly believe that care giving is my calling in life. I have spent 20+ years as an Administrative Assistant in the corporate world and for small companies. I started my career as a caregiver on a part-time basis and fell in love with the work. I knew that I was comfortable with the elderly at a young age, as they were always in my life. I am passionate about taking care of them, listening to what they have to say and making a difference in their life. I am a nurturer by nature and it is important to me to now share that gift with those who need it most. I am the youngest of nine (9) children so I have always taken care of my siblings children, my nieces and nephews. I have received precious memories and fulfillment from taking care of them. I my group of friends, I am always the one "taking care of things and everyone." That is just my nature. What I enjoy most about care giving is knowing that I helped someone and I was an ear to listen to them and take interest in them. I love to listen to what an elderly person has to say because I learn SO much from them. One of my patients required blood sugar readings and insulin. I learned how to administer both and I am quite proud of the fact that I have that knowledge and skill.

I absolutely Love my job... and being able to interact and work with people and know that my kindness and patience is making a huge impact on someone's life. I'm a people person , hard worker and very reliable. I help with the ADL"s .. specialize in showers and also with clients with dementia, Parkinson disease , full ambulating , doctors appointments , grocery shopping. Catheters and just a nice companion. I can cook and do light housekeeping if needed. My clients becomes just like family. And I would treat your loved one just like I would want someone treating me or my own grandmother. As you are trusting someone with your loved one and my job to protect and to give the best care possible. I am looking forward to working with you or your loved one.

My name is Jada. I have a little over 3 years of experience as an STNA in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. I prefer 3rd shift since that's typically what I'm used to and it's easier with my daily schedule. I take pride in keeping your loved ones cared for and watched over to make sure they're comfortable throughout the night. I can do light housekeeping and I am very pet friendly!
