I am 52 years old. I have been in doing house keeping/ caregiving for 30 years. I was with my last family for 18 years. I start doing this because I was a single mother and need to have a flexible schedule. I have never been fired or even close. I enjoy helping those in need because we have all sometime or will sometime need help. I feel that is where God had put me. In 2018 my husband retired and we moved to PA. I thought I would love the retirement life and I did enjoy the first year, traveling, Well now I am bored. I am still fairly young I am completely flexible and I have a reliable vehicle. Hello! My name is Heather Dunmire, I have been in the medical field for 8 years now. My first job out of high school was a nurses aide position. I went on to further my education and obtain my CNA license in January 2017. I have a strong passion for wanting to help others and wanting to see them succeed. I have worked in a childcare facility as a shift supervisor before but I always find my way back to my elderly folk, that is where I feel my heart is at and where I feel I do my best work. I love hearing their stories from all throughout their lives, and I absolutely love to see the smiles on their faces. I like to really take the time to find out what their dislikes and likes are, get to know their routine of things, and try to connect with them in a way to make them feel safe and secure. I am cpr, first aid, aed, and Heimlich trained. I am also diabetic trained and medication trained, and insulin trained and I have a customer service certification. Im a good listener. I am kind, caring and patient. I am dependable. I love the elderly. I love it when they talk about growing up, meeting their spouses,maybe went off to war and of course their grandchildren and great grandchildren. I enjoy making a difference in their lives. I am very passionate when it comes to caring for others. Growing up I've seen my family take care of our elders. 98% of the elders in my family were cared for at home. So growing up I knew what I wanted to do after high school. Caring for others is in my blood. I have worked in nursing homes in North Carolina, Florida and Virginia. I feel like elders are God's angels and they must be respected and taken care of.
