I have been a caregiver for 4 years. I love it. Knowing that I can make someone happy is a great feeling. I took care of my great grandmother which made me want to become a caregiver. I think patience and compassion are essential traits needed for working this type of job. This is a job that might have some challenging situations along the way, and a good attitude goes a long way. Ive always had a giving personality and I like helping people. My grandmother had raised my brother and I since we were toddlers. As Ive gotten older and she has as well, Ive been giving back and helping her along the way. I would say that really kickstarted my compassion and empathy for the elderly. In my opinion, this is one of the most rewarding jobs one can have. Just knowing you are helping someone who cant help themselves, and seeing how grateful they are for it, makes it all worth it.

I became a caregiver because I took care of my grandfather until his passing for 5+ years and found that I loved doing things such as this. I love being a caregiver because I love seeing the happiness on their face when I come through the door. A personal achievement that I am proud of is achieving my Associate's degree. I am a mother of two little boys and am recently married as well! I love being outdoors canoeing, kayaking, and spending time with my children and husband.

Hello, my name is stephanie and i am 25 yo. I have two beautiful daughters and i absolutely love it. I have always had a passion for being a caregiver, it has always been so rewarding to tend to the elder and see how appreciative they all are. What makes me such a good caregiver is i put my all into my resident's i think the goal is to make them as comfortable as you can and be there for them 24/7. Being there for them is very important, but you also need to respect and love them as well! I would love to have the chance to work with a company or just seperate client's if possible!!(:

I started this profession after taking care of my grandmother for several years in Altoona. She became ill and my mother needed help taking care of her while she worked. I didn't hesitate and ever since that time I've been taking care of people.It makes me feel godd to know that I'm needed in one way or another. I'm proud of all of the things that I have learned both professionally and personally. I learn something new every day. I'm 53, married and I have 3 girls and 1 grandson who keeps me on my toes.
