I made a career change a couple years ago when I realized helping people was a deep seeded passion of mine. I became a CNA in 1997 when my aunt was in a nursing home. I saw all the folks that needed love and care and thought I would give it a try. Well 2014 I am still a caregiver and can not imagine doing anything else. I have worked in Long Term Care, Home Health Agencies , Group Homes and private duty. My favorite being private duty with one on one care. I love helping people with their everyday needs and try to put some spice in their life by taking them out or offering fun activities in the home. I am willing to travel away from home, currently all my clients are in Centre County.

I have always had a passion for being a caregiver, it has always been so rewarding to tend to the elder and see how appreciative they all are. What makes me such a good caregiver is i put my all into my resident's i think the goal is to make them as comfortable as you can and be there for them 24/7. I started this profession after taking care of my grandmother for several years in Altoona. She became ill and my mother needed help taking care of her while she worked. I didn't hesitate and ever since that time I've been taking care of people.It makes me feel godd to know that I'm needed in one way or another. I'm proud of all of the things that I have learned both professionally and personally. I learn something new every day. I'm 53, married and I have 3 girls and 1 grandson who keeps me on my toes.
