My name is Jacob Jennings. I have been a caregiver for people with special needs for around 2 years. I chose this career field because I was looking for a job that actually made a difference. I love to help and that's why I am so great at caregiving for others. A good caregiver comes with heart for free. I love to help families and or independent people be comfortable, safe and happy at home. Unfortunately I am not rich so I need to earn a wade but my heart is 100 percent free. I love entering a home helping and moving on to the next. I just love all of the tricks inside secrets of families, maybe its a magical recipe or neat way to clean with vinegar. Maybe even just going to play bingo somewhere and or hanging out at home. I am personally proud of all of my education and being able to share it with the people who hire me. I became a caregiver because I enjoy helping those who are in need of help to meet their daily needs.What I like about being a caregiver is known that I am there not only to help with their daily needs but to also listen to them when all they need is someone to talk to. A personal achievement I am proud of is having the hands on experience working with the Dementia residents. It is a experience all of its own and one of the jobs that I really enjoyed the most. A little about myself. I grew up in Northern NY and now have moved to the Harriman TN area. Although a lot of people don't like change I really enjoy it. I really enjoy learning new things. I have worked in healthcare on and off for over 20 years. I had a few other jobs in the past outside of working in healthcare but I enjoy working with people who are in need. I like hands on training the most when it comes to jobs. I feel that its the best experience that I have had in the past when it comes to being out in the work place.

When I was young my grandfather was very sick. He had several Strokes over the years. My grandmother had no choice but to work to take care of him. So my family and I had to pull together and take care of him. We had to do things such as changing his adult diapers, bathing him feeding him, transferring him. But most of all showing him the love and compassion that he needed. He was a very proud man. He always took care of everyone else. He didn't like having other people to take care of him. So we did everything humanly possible to make him more comfortable. That's what got me into this line of work. And that's what I think of every time I go to a client's house. I think, if this was papaw... what would I do? This is the only job I've ever really loved. And I suppose I have him to thank for it.
