Hello, I am a mother of 3. Adopted & raised by my grandmother & stepgrandfather. At a young age, I was watching grandma care for her mother 1st we go to momo's house until after some years she moved in with us. I would watch and assist my grandmother in any way I could till her passing. We then brought my adopted fathers, mother to live with us and cared for her for almost 2 years until she passed. During that time learning, to listen to them, and being there for their needs I learned what upset them and I enjoyed spoiling them with love. I grew up left home, had children & made my way back to my hometown when my birth dad's father's dad, dementia started getting bad. My family moved into his house and began 24-hour care, it was all very new to him & us. I began to take classes to understand Alzheimer / Dementia & once I finished the class I had a clearer understanding of what he felt, & we came up with ways to always just meet his needs. I was his live provider for 2 & a half years until he passed. I took a break because losing him hurt. A few years later my aunt & uncle needed help. My aunt had Alzheimer's but with psychoses (something new for me) & My uncle was just minimal assistance but reminders of pills, & meals for 2 years. I enjoy people who need assistance, because I too have been 1st paralyzed (4 months) after a head-on collision & then a whole lot of recovery, and asking for help was not ever easy. Having my family care for me 24/7 weighed heavy on me. So I try my best to better understand exactly what is needed, whether that may be a listening ear, to an extremely weird story, or their upset voicing the changes they are going through. And I try to be understanding to them maybe not want to do a regular task so I bend things and change up the routine if that is what's needed. Because I know how it feels when your life has changed. I love it when it's my time to leave & they don't want me to go. I also love when I see the happiness in the family

I am a fun, loving and caring young lady who has a lot of fun helping the elderly or anyone in need. I love the rush and excitement of being a good person to those in need. The smiles on my residents faces brings so much joy to my heart. A personal achievement I am most proud of is lasting a year in the nursing home taking care of over 20 residents a day.

I have many personality traits that make me the perfect candidate. I'm patient, positive, funny, always willing to help, and love to help people. What attracts me to caregiving is I have excelled and learned so much of the importance of caregivers that truly care by taking care of my Mother-in-Law. I am so specific on how things need done and I also became an expert unfortunately caring for my mom before she passed. I love getting to know my companion, laughing with them, alleviating any stresses they are having, and letting them know they're safe and taken care of as long as I am there. A personal achievement I am proud of is not only caring for my terminally sick mom, but also somehow maintaining running her business while still always being there for whatever she needed. It was the hardest part of my life, but I was forced to grow up quickly to take care of her the way she had me my whole life. I dropped out of college at Texas Tech and put all my time and energy into her.

My name is Norma I've been doing part-time caregiver for over 10 years off and on besides my full-time job at night. I'm a people's person I take my time at what I do I complete my task. I make that extra special time if needed. I am a single parent of five kids but only have one left at home who is 15 years old . I am a Christian woman. Love music love going for walks and reading. I love working with the older generation. They can teach us a few things or two because they have been there they have done that and they have great stories that I enjoy listening to. I love to make a difference in someone's life. Whether it be cleaning buying groceries or just going outside with the individual sitting down and talking if they want company.

I have taken care of cancer patients all the way to Alzheimer's and dementia patients. i do use care and compassion and consideration when taking care of patients whom others find to be requiring a bit more assistance . I am all about patients or clients with their needs being met first. i can work alone or in settings with other team members. i have worked home health aide positions and hospice aide positions with my greatest achievements in that specialized area.
