I am capable of being a great care giver because I am attentive and not judgemental. I became a caregiver by accident, my mother lost her memory with little warning, (she was handing her own affairs well and within a few days she was incapable of managing her own affairs), and soon after lost her ability to walk, at the time I was unemployed and so became a caregiver. In spite of not having given this line of work any previous consideration. Becoming a caregiver for people outside my family acquainted me with how other people lived. My interest has always been people and spending a considerable amount of time in homes, allows me insights that other jobs don't give. I am a Certified Nursing Aid with over 20 years of experience. I truly do enjoy helping others whether a person needs minimum or maximum assistance. I love to talk , laugh and do my best to encourage a resident whenever they might be feeling disappointed or discouraged because I definitely do understand. Certified in First Aid and CPR. My experience includes tasks of bathing, assist with toileting, lifting, wheelchair transfers, G- tube feedings, grooming, oral and personal hygiene care, dispensing meds, cooking, cleaning, patient care needed if bedridden, companion or hospice. Also, experience with Dementia and Alzheimer patients.
