I began my fascination with healthcare as a child. I would polish my grandmother's white nursing shoes for her in the mornings as she was getting ready for work. She worked as a CNA at a nursing home in Lexington, VA. I remember looking at her and thinking I want to be just like her when I grow up. So as an adult I received my LPN and worked 18 years in Critical Care roles as well as skilled nursing home units in Roanoke and Martinsville to honor her memory. I've spent most of my life taking care of people because that is my passion and what I'm most proud of.

I have always enjoy the company of the elderly. I enjoy spending timr with them, listening to their stories and just talking to them. Making them feel like normal people. I am proud to say in my 10 years of doing this I have never had a fall incident.

I have been a licensed CNA for over 15 years. I have worked with a number of clients over the years. Which includes a tetraplegic for over 10 years strokes clients , clients with dementia and Parkinson's. During my 15 years I have developed a lot of various tools and knowledge to assist and help my clients. I was the nurse manager for my client who was a tetraplegic she passed away in March of 2023 . I was also the lead nurse manager for another family for 11 months. My management skills have developed throughout my career. I am very dependable and have excellent references.

1. I became a caregiver because I have a strong love and passion for helping and caring for others. I have long term goals of becoming a nurse, and I used to volunteer on the rescue squad. 2. Four years ago, my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I left my job to stay at home and care for her. I cared for her from the moment she got out of the hospital and was sent home with hospice. I was with her through everything, until she was bedridden and couldn't eat or even open her eyes. I stayed at her bedside, bathed her, changed her catheter, adult diaper, dispensed her medicine, and talked and read to her until she passed away in my arms. I did this along with being a single mother of 2 young children and providing support to my other family members. Since then I have been caring for my soon to be mother-in-law on my own time while working and caring for my children. It is a true passion that brings me joy and happiness that I can love and care for others. 4. I am 30 years old, and I am a mother of 2 wonderful children. I am a very empathetic, loving and caring person. I have recently decided to look into going to college for nursing to pursue my dreams.
