About La Tryna

I entered my journey into health care at an early age (25 yrs. as a caregiver and 6 yrs. as a CNA). As a teenager in 1986, I started caring for family members and others by helping my mother who was a nurse and physical therapist. When family members became extremely ill, they were moved into our home and cared for by my mom and myself. I learned that caring for others was a desire of mine and it came easily to me, just like breathing it’s in my soul. Being passionate about caring for others directed me to advance my knowledge and be more than a Caregiver or Certified Nurse Assistant. I have dedicated my life to continuing my education and building my knowledge in healthcare so that I can continue to provide healing to those in need. I believe that caring for the well-being of others should be based on the whole person, which is their mind, body and spirit. I think Western Medicine (conventional medicine) with Holistic Health can help provide the care that is needed for loved ones. This is possible by combining the directions and medication given by a physician along with including spiritual and mental health, nutritional therapy, herbal medicine, aromatherapy, meditation, therapeutic touch, exercise, energy work, acupuncture, massage therapy, chiropractic procedures and caring and preparing loved ones for their afterlife journey. With this combination of care treatments, I believe that myself and other care providers are able to give 100 percent care for the whole person.

I grew up watching my parents taking care of my grand parents , I guess it comes naturally to me doing the same . Taking care of other gives you that inner satisfaction which is hard to find in other work settings. I'm proud to be a Nurse . I'm registered nurse from a foreign country working as certified nursing assistant with extensive experience working with seniors with different healthcare needs and trained to work with a lot of diverse cultures and settings. http://www.thequint.com/2015/aprhttp://www.thequint.com/2015/apr/07/female-gender-mutilation-indias-well-kept-secret/07/female-gender-mutilation-indias-well-kept-secret

I started as a caregiver after I left teaching with CPS. Caregiving has become a passion for me. I am honored to be able to help others. I take pride in having high standards, especially when caring for others. I know how important it is to keep clients in their own home. I love that I can help people, especially those in the end stages of life. I am especially proud to have cared for 2 family members in their last months/years and have learned a lot. I continue to be willing/interested in learning whatever I can. I am proud of everything I've learned and taking that knowledge with me to each of my clients. I treat every client with the same care, love, respect, dignity and privacy that I would want to be treated. Each client is unique and I make sure to tailor my care to THEIR needs/wants. I truly enjoy being a caregiver and think of it as more than just a job; it's a dedicated lifestyle. I choose NOT to get my CNA license because it would tie my hands. I would not be able to do wound care, catheter changes, g-tube feedings and changes, medication dosage, administration, and set ups, insulin shots, or most of what I have done for my hospice clients. I have been trained by various Drs, nurses, hospice staff, CNAs, wound care specialists, and staff at The Rehab Institute of Chicago. I choose to learn and take everything I've learned to better my client's life, for as long as I can.
