In 1998 my aunt, who was 89yrs, suffered undiagnosed Alzheimer and dementia and why she was in that crises, I was her caregiver. I was her caregiver because I care for her, showed her kindness, passion and was patient with her to understand she was not herself. Then I was interested to find out the reason for her current status so I became a CNA. I have a passion for putting others first. Seeing someone with an intellectual disability able to lead a happy, safe and fulfilling life is enough to make it all worthwhile. In essence, it’s about making small changes to everyday life to make major beneficial changes to someone with an intellectual disease . Seeing the care and love that shapes it - provokes me to help them feel comfortable. I love providing home caregiving services to those that would otherwise not be able to do so. The smile on their faces is overwhelming and makes me feel I have done my job right. I have always enjoyed helping people. I love meeting new people and providing caregiving services that they can no longer do for themselves. I also enjoy the opportunity to impact clients’ lives and make a difference in their lives. I appreciate the chance to get to know clients and their families and become an integral part of their lives. I strive to give 100% and be the best in what I do, with no exceptions or excuses.
