I became a caregiver because I have an elderly great grandmother who lives in the same apartment building that I do (she is now 102) and I have helped her a lot through the years. I know there are many elderly individuals that need help that don't have family members and they rely on others and I believe it is a way to make a difference in the lives of others. I enjoy being a caregiver because it's a way to show people that they have someone who cares, that they still matter and that that they are not alone. It's also great to watch people meet goals and to get better and to be a part of helping them do so. A personal achievement that I am proud of is raising my children. I have two kids. They are smart, well behaved, and good kids. My mom passed away when I was 7 years old so I grew up without a mom so spending time with my kids is not something I take for granted and raising them with good morals and ideals is something that is very important to me. The fact that they are smart and good kids is something I am proud of. I am a fun loving and caring person. I love working both with kids and with the elderly. I do quite a bit of volunteering at my sons school and am part of the parent patrol. I have a great grandmother who is 102 who lives with my grandmother who is in her 80s and assist her at times in the evening after her care giver leaves. Between my great grandmother and my kids, they keep me pretty busy but I love being with them and helping them.
