I became a caregiver because my friend had an accident at work and was paralyzed. I saw how much he depended on his caregivers to help him manage his life and I thought it would be very rewarding to help others by providing care. I like making a difference in the lives of others and helping the family members continue their routines knowing their loved one is being well cared for. I am proud that my last client and his family trusted me to care for him for six years until his death. I often was invited to family and holiday celebrations and I felt honored by that. I recently moved from Virginia to Chicago to be nearer to my family.
