I starting working as a caregiver over 7 years ago, when my mother got ill. At that time I was a deer in headlights. Since then, I decided to pay it forward, and help ease the pain other families were going through. I've become close with the families that trusted me to care for their parents. Being able to grant people their wishes to live in their own home (instead of a nursing home) brings me great joy, and satisfaction. References available upon request.

October 18, 2018 To Whom It May Concern: The purpose of this letter is to recommend Irwin Platzner who had worked as a caregiver for my brother for the last six months. Looking after my brother during his transitional period from a concussion, multiple falls and numerous other health issues was a difficult task but Irwin always handled it professionally. Irwin did not live in my brothers' home but he was always on time even in the worst of traffic and weather. Irwin helped my brother stand up and sit down, made sure he could make it around the home with no falls. My brother was unsteady on his feet even with a walker. Irwin always kept us apprised of any changes he had seen and made suggestions to improve his quality of life. He also provided the much needed male companionship, medication reminders, meal preparation and the multiple issues associated with incontinence. He also made sure the home was "spotless" before he left in the evening, dishwasher emptied and laundry done and all garbage was removed from the house. Without his help my brother could not have returned to his home and would have been moved to an assisted living facility. We can't thank Irwin enough for all his help, care, professionalism and kindness during a challenging transition. Should you have any questions please feel free to contact me anytime. Sincerely, Susan Devlin Susan Devlin Phone: 630-995-3343 ... more

It is a pleasure to recommend Irwin Platzner to work as a live-in caregiver. Our family hired Irwin last year to look after my ailing father and I am extremely grateful to him for making my father’s time happy and comfortable. As an individual, Irwin can be described as genuine, patient, and compassionate. He has the ability to handle people at their worst – my father suffered from Parkinson’s and Louie Body’s dementia and only I k now the struggle that a live-in caregiver has to go through when looking after someone who suffers from a brain damaging disease! While Irwin lived with my father, he was like a family member and I feel sad at the fact that the time was so brief before my father passed. We were so pleased with his communication with my sister and I, letting us know updates of how my father was doing. He was always there and at my father’s side. We appreciated the cleanliness and attention to detail with the care of my father. We were looking forward to a long relationship. I cannot say enough about Irwin and his passion for providing assistance to people who are unable to provide for themselves. His compassion and love for elderly are contagious as you will notice the first time you meet him. please do not hesitate to contact me at (414) 303-4088.  William A McCormack ... more

Irwin Platzner took care of our Father, Tony, for 18 months, who, at 98 years old, passed on March 22, 2016 of natural causes. During his tenure, Irwin served as a live-in caretaker, as Dad was unable to walk/function without assistance. Mr. Platzner displayed great professionalism and compassion while performing his duties, which included personal grooming, nutrition management, safe transport, and administration of certain medic al needs, among other daily tasks. He was also a warm and friendly companion, and I know Dad appreciated his company. Upon visits, it was clearly obvious that Tony was receiving excellent care. In addition, all of the daily household tasks, such as cleaning and laundry were executed on a consistent and timely basis. It should also be noted that, prior to returning home, Dad had a surgical procedure and his recovery time was quite lengthy, due to a series of infections and general apathy. He was released from the recovery facility and, upon returning home, was placed in Hospice care. Under Mr. Platzner’s care, his general health, well being, and mental state had improved so much, a decision was made to take Tony off Hospice care within the month. In closing, I’d also like to state that Irwin is now a friend of the family, and is a pleasure to be around. Because of our experience, Mr. Irwin Platzner comes to you with our highest recommendation. For a personal reference, please contact John Lostroscio at 954-599-4946. ... more

He was a standout then and continued to perform as one through the year he was under our employ. Irwin’s job changed throughout the months as our dad digressed with his dementia and physical weakness to when he eventually took a fall in the middle of the night that broke his hip. Irwin remained in the hospital round the clock and later at the rehab facility as our father could not remember he had a broken hip and would try to get u p. No rehab facility has the manpower to watch someone constantly to be sure he didn’t stand. But Irwin did. Irwin later became a hospice caregiver and took my dad through some difficult days all the way to his passing from this life to his eternal home. We are forever grateful. In short, here are some of Irwin’s strengths: 1) Organization. No words can explain how well he controls doctor apts, medication refills and simple things like hair and nail care. He gave us girls our life back because he had it all under control so we could simply visit our dad as daughters. 2) Cleanliness. Our dad’s home was never so clean and well kept. 3) Loyalty. We never questioned where his loyalty was and we trusted him with everything. He never proved us wrong. 4) Driver. Irwin could find any address and knew how to get dad in and out of a car safely with his wheelchair. I can assure the reader that if we needed another caregiver again, we would not hesitate a moment to contact Irwin. Sharon Van Wyhe ... more
