About Bessie

I started out early in my life working with the elderly. I got a co-op job working in a nursing home in the afternoons, as part of job training in high school. It was great getting hours to graduate and learning hands on care with the elderly. I found that I really enjoyed working with the senior population. I love being able to comfort those in need. Being able to make someone who's lonely, laugh along with showing empathy and really caring for individuals in need. Helping others is rewarding to me because you focus on others, and end up seeing how truly blessed your life is. As a caregiver I have grown to realize how just little simple things in life that most of us take for granted, are greatly appreciated by those in need. A hug, reading the newspaper to someone who loves to read, but can not see well, or just by saying hello and acknowledging that person is in the room. My personal achievements are my two kids, who have grown up to be great adults. Then it's my degree that I went back to school {late in life I might add} and did quite well back in school. I love to read, along with enjoying a good conversation with people in general.

worked up in healthcare center with residents in long term care setting. Provided daily ADL's for residents, such as vitals taken, weighing, operating the hoyer lifts and sara lifts for residents unable to transfer and ambulate due to medical issues. Showers, along with grooming tools were provided by me as CNA. Helping out with activities, making residents beds, taking care of laundry, along with helping residents that needed help feeding themselves. Lastly the charting of each resident that I took care of had to be done in the computers daily.
