Hi! My name is Hailey, I am 20 years old and interested in being an official caregiver. I am a very caring person. I care about the safety of others so much. I enjoy being inside or going out and doing things. I'm especially close with my mother, and I was to my grandma who just recently passed. I first had an interest in care-taking when my mom got really sick. I was just a Junior in high school, taking her to appointments, administering medicine into her picc line. Helping her with everything. And then when my dad got sick I was the one to take care of him, driving to appointments, helping him walk, do physical activities, etc. And now that my grandma has passed away I have been helping my grandpa with certain things, more of being a companion rather than anything. And then as my time as a PSA really opened my eyes as in what I can do and how much it affects the people I help. I enjoy knowing how much just me helping someone can mean to someone. I enjoy knowing my grandpa looks forward to the days when I come visit him. It's a reward for myself too. I feel good when I help others. I think I am most proud of when I stepped up and took care of my mom when I was so young and still in school. I did well academically and was still able to take care of her. Because of that we share an extremely tight bond with each other. I often find myself becoming closer to people of age rather than people around my age, and finding someone who needs that companion will really benefit the both of us. :)
