I always try to be happy and positive and pass it on to others. I took care of my great-grandmother when she needed nursing assistance and found it very rewarding. I think most elderly people are smarter than younger ones due to all the hard times most have endured during their lives. I want to be a helping, positive force in their life. I was a single mom raising my son on my own working 2 jobs at a time and praying I can make him shine when he was older.....and I did. People thank me for raising such an awesome son.....for he is well loved by many friends and aquaintences.

I am positive, energetic, patient, and kind. I love playing games and taking walks. I was primarily raised by my grandmother, and lived with her growing up, so I naturally have always gotten along really well with seniors. I spent a lot of time in my teens and early 20s helping my mom and aunts care for her increasing needs as she entered dementia and became more and more reliant on her wheelchair. When she was 93, she needed a lot more hands on care, so I had her move in with me. I helped her in and out of bed, with diaper changes, washing, cleaning of her room, making meals, making sure she took her medications and did exercise, making and attending doctor visits, balancing her checkbook, keeping her mind sharp with games and conversations, and anything else she needed. She passed away at age 95, and since then I have been interested in helping others with caring for their loved ones. I worked as a full-time Massage Therapist for 3 years prior to taking her in, and majority of my clients were elderly people with chronic pain and mobility problems. I will be graduating in December with a Masters in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine, and as an intern a majority of my patients have been seniors. These relationships have been some of the most rewarding in my life, and I continue to be drawn to caring for and building friendships with the elderly.
