I like being a care giver because it started when I cared for my parents as they aged and then my mother-in-law, and I liked helping them with banking, outings to places in the community, doctor's appointments, grocery shopping, church, movies, dinners out, laundry, cooking house cleaning and more, Now that they are all deceased, I'd like to channel that energy into helping someone else. I like being able to help someone to stay in their own home as long as possible where they feel the most comfortable. One of the things I'm most proud of in my entire career was the day that my one of my clients spoke for the first time after about two years of working with him on all of his verbal skills. Another thing I'm really proud of was that when I worked for an agency that works with disabled adults I was instrumental in fundraising and raised over $30,000 in one day to help the agency provide for the clients. I live in Palatine, have access to my own car for work, I don't smoke, I've been CPR trained and certified a number of times, I'm reliable and on time. I also believe I have good communication skills with my clients and their families.
