I remember during freshman year in college seeing an advertisement for live-in caregiver. I needed a job and was living in a dorm not far away. I applied and from 1977 until now I have enjoyed the privilege of caring for those unable to care for themselves. What I enjoy most is the look of appreciation on their face. It helps me want to continue in this field and is why I am seeking to continue in it. It is very rewarding in that I am giving someone a reason to live, smile and keep going as if they are not unable to do for themselves. So far, I have met some of the most precious individuals who love me as if I am a part of their family. That, makes it all the more rewarding. I love the work so much I have managed to take a Certified Nurses Assistant course in 2008. I have been on the registry since. I am currently seeking another assignment as soon as possible because I want to give back what was freely given to me, the chance t make a difference in someones life, to help give the chance to live a healthier, longer life in the manner in which they are accustomed. I have raised my only child and he is now an adult. I live alone therefore if gives me the time to be off help to someone in need.I enjoy reading, puzzles and walks in the park or on the beach. I also enjoy listening to history unfold, as told by the client. What a joy!
