I have always found a desire to help and take care of others. Something about giving to others and helping them in whatever way it is that they need is something that I have always found a joy in. When I was 10 my mom got diagnosed with cancer and she passed away when I was 13. There was a nurse assistant that was helping my mom during her final days and she spoke with me for a while as I cried in the hallway. She told me she also went through something similar when she was younger and we spoke for a while. Something inside me sparked and ever since then I knew nursing was what I was destined to do. Everyday at work I feel a certain kind of happiness when I am taking care of my residents and especially when they accomplish something. I know nursing is definitely the field that I was meant to be in. I am currently a CNA right now and plan on finishing school until I become a nurse. I would like to find a job where I expand my knowledge and learn daily while I help to change the lives of others.
