I have recently moved to Portland Oregon to attend school full time as a Respiratory Therapist. I have been in emergency medicine for 16 years with a wide variety of skill sets. I work best under extreme pressure . I have a passion for medicine, it is in my blood. I am looking for home care work while I attend school full time. I am taking a break from being on the road as a Paramedic to focus more attention on my studies as para-medicine can be very time consuming and demanding on the body and mind. I am attentive and able to work well with families who have concerns for their loved ones health. I am able to do long shift such as 16 to 24 hour overnight. I am able to care for a large variety of diseases and conditions.I have some hospice care experience. My time in a level 2 trauma emergency room and years on the road as a first responder has given the skill to be prepared for just about anything. II have traveled to other countries to run medical clinics with the bare essentials. I look forward to discussing your needs and how I may be able to help you or your family member. I carry several certifications and licences ranging from CPR instructor, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Pre- hospital trauma life support, as well as a Paramedic licence.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I am always about putting other people's well being before my own and care about my clients. Care to me not only means getting something for them to eat, but also sitting down with them and being there as a companion and someone to talk to. I became a caregiver because it takes a person with a heart to show their caring ways and I believe that caring is way more important than making money. Caregiving is a career that is often overlooked because we aren't a nurse or doctor but we are essentially one of the many backbones in health care. What i like most about being a caregiver is seeing my clients happy and depend on me to make their day better not only emotionally but also physically as well. I have been told that my smile brightens up clients faces when they see it. My biggest personal achievement was making a client less stubborn and actually start to smile and open up. They didn't like me at first because I was new to them but in the time I knew them they started being more optimistic and having a positive outlook on life again.
