Hello, my name is Karla Martinez. I am 19 years old. I work in a house for people with disabilities. I'm a great caregiver because I'm a very kind hearted person. I love interacting with people and making them feel loved. I became a caregiver because I'm studying to be a sheriff deputy, therefore I wanted to learn about all types of personalities and how to work with the handicapped. My cousin has cerebral palsy and I've taken care of her since I was very young which was also one of the reasons why I like working with people with disabilities. I am more than proud to say my consumers love having me as their counselor. It is one of the greatest feelings in life. Knowing I make them feel at home and loved warms my heart. The smiles and excitement I receive from them as soon as I walk in through the door makes me love what I do. Helping out people has always been my goal. I'm more than positive that I'm on the right path.
