I BECAME A CARE GIVER WHEN I WAS 15 FOR OUR FAMILY FRIEND. SHE WAS DIABETIC . AND HAD LOST BOTH OF HER LEGS. HER FAMILY LIVED IN ANOTHER STATE AND OUR FAMILY BASICALLY ADOPTED HER. I GAVE HER PHYSICAL THERAPY AND GAVE HER SHOTS AND MEDICATION, DAILY LIVING ACTIVITIES AFTER SCHOOL AND WEEKENDS. I BELIEVED AT THAT TIME IT WAS MORE IMPORTANT TO TAKE CARE OF PEOPLE THAT NEEDED FAMILY AND LOVE WHEN THEIR OWN WOULD NOT OR THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO. I AM SO P[PROUD THE WAY MY PARENTS RAISED US , I HAVE FOUR SISTERS IN THE MEDICAL FIELD AND MY DAUGHTER IS CURRENTLY IN NURSING AND A NIECES IN NURSING AND A NEPHEW IN SCHOOL FINISHING HIS DOCTORING . WE ARE A CLOSE NET FAMILY AND HARD WORKERS AND NOT AFRAID A CHALLENGE. I HAVE WORKED IN THE HOSPITAL IN ICU FOR FIVE YEARS AS A TECH . THE NURSES WERE NEVER WORRIED ABOUT HAVING ME CHANGE PATIENT ,WOUND CARES, PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSIST , HELP OVER DOSES PATIENT, VITALS AND FOLLOW HEART MONITORS AND RECORDINGS OF HEART RHYTHMS,I AM SO THANKFUL FOR THE NURSES THAT EDUCATED AND MENTORED ME , I RECENTLY WENT AND TOOK A CNA CLASS TO GET MY LICENCES AND DEBRA OTT IS ONE AMAZING NURSE AND EDUCATOR !!! SHE TOLD ME THERE IS ONE THING I KNOW YOU WILL PASS THIS CLASS IF YOU REMEMBER EVERYTHING I TEACH YOU AND TRY NOT TO DUE THE WAY YOU WERE TAUGHT THIRTY YEARS AGO. IT WAS HARD BUT I DID IT. HER CLASS TEST WAS HARDER THAN STATE AND SHE DIFFIDENTLY HAD ME PREPARED . I WAS AND AM WORKING IN A COUNTY HOME STILL AND IT WILL BE CLOSING MARCH 31,2015 . I AM W
