What helps me to be a great caregiver is that I am a very patient, kind, and caring person. My mother was a CNA for many years, and when I was a child, she used to take me to work with her every day after school to the nursing home. I had many fun afternoons keeping the elderly residents company in the lounge where we would watch tv or play piano. That was the beginning of my affinity for taking care of people. In 2010, when I lost my desk job, I became a caregiver to suppliment income. And it was then that I realized how much I truly enjoyed being a caregiver. It is not work to me, it is fun and rewarding. For the last several years, I have had to focus my full attention on helping my husband with his business, but now I am ready to pursure caregiving again, and hope to meet some great new people.
