I have learned so much in the 2 1/2 years I cared for my 74 year old father. My father had a knee replacement, physical therapy in Nursing home, Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus in which a shunt placed in his brain. Then ends up with ALS. I Feed him, bath, change diapers, dress him, give breathing treatments, and oxygen if need. He's no longer able to walk so we transport him with a lift. I'm a person who gives all my heart to older people who need help, and have no one to take care of them. It's so wonderful when you give them patience, and loving care. It helps to rest their mind. Sometime just a smile, hug, talking to them or holding their hand makes their day wonderful. I currently take care of my Father from 8:00 to 1:30. I'am looking for something in afternoon or nights.
