It was a given since I was young what I would do as when I got older. My mother got very sick when I was 9 yrs old, so being the oldest child I had to jump in and help out my Dad with caring for my brother and sister. When I realized people got paid for caring for others I was thrilled. After several yrs in the field I knew it was my niche in life, what God had created me to do. With most of my patients I become part of their family and they are part of mine. I have taken care of patients with dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease, diabetes, cancers and broken bones. I have worked daily, lived in and respite care. I do light housekeeping, cook meals, help with hygiene, and med management. I am very proud of the fact I have never been fired from by.any of my patients or their family. My patients usually pass on or their family feel like it would be best if they are put in a home specializing in their specific needs.
