I am a certified nursing assistant and have been licensed since 1997. I became a caregiver when my great grandmother had a stroke and my cousin got shot 13 times so I could help my grandmother because taking care of both of them got to much for her so I decided to help and loved it. After that I loved helping people who couldn't quite do everything for themselves so much I got a home health aide job. I started mainly helping elderly people with this job and I found great pleasure in it. it made me feel good and like I was making a difference in a world that was becoming so cold. I was able to put a smile on peoples face by being there for them. Knowing that they could depend on me was so pleasing to them and so satisfying for me. I have worked with all kinds of patients and residents but I remember most gratifying times being in the E.R. I worked in. When people are in the E.R. and don't know whats going on it is a hard time for them. So I try to be as supportive as possible and try to help them be optimistic so their not just thinking the worst. I feel so good and special when they leave and tell my supervisor or manager that I was great and they couldn't have made it thru without me. I always try to keep great bed side manner and always make sure that the patient/ resident feels satisfied. I adore my job and what I do.
