I became a caregiver when my grandmother got sick. I put aside my personal life and took care of her all the way until God called her home after that I thought to myself why not do something I enjoy and others enjoy my companionship. My mom got in a major car accident and she was paralyzed from waist down I was there for her 24/7 helping her build her strength back and now 2014 she is walking and no longer in the wheelchair. The thing I love the most about being a caregiver is knowing I'm helping someone make a difference in their life if that's from helping them gain self esteem, cooking and cleaning, remind them to take medication, being responsible for making sure they make it to doctor appointments, that person they can talk to and show love towards, showing them that they are not alone someone is by their side. I must say the achievement I'm proud of is knowing when that person no longer needs my assistance weather its because God called them home or family member take over, I know and that patient know I did the best I could do to accommodate them. I'm 22 years old and I spend 5 yrs. of my older life taking care of someone if its from children to adults I always give my love to everyone. I'm a caring, outgoing, funny woman and love to make a change. I have no kids but I consider my nephew as my child when he was born I took care of him for three years and time to time I will provide for him with the things he need.
