I am empathetic, compassionate, nurturing, attentive, dependable, committed, organized, happy, patient, honest, industrious, quiet, energetic, conscientious, clean and kind. As a child, I was always in the company of older folks in my community - so much so, that when I was 17 years old I took care of a 76 years old family friend on the weekends for 3 months while still in high school. I was always running to assist them when the need arises. The elderly comes first for me all the times. I was a volunteer at my church's Assisted Living Facility for 5 years, helping the residents with grooming, dressing, feeding, exercises and just general companionship - chatting and making them happy and joyful. I just have this natural passion and respect for them and humanity in general. I enjoy the satisfaction that engulfs me when I perform a task that they might feel a little embarrassed about but, because of the manner in which it was done, (privacy, respect) they just looked at me and say thank you so much, Joan or just smile confirming satisfaction. I also feel ecstatic and encouraged when family members and friends use words like - "Joan, you are the best" "you are a God-send", "you are special", "Joan, I could never do what you do". and you do your work with such professionalism. I am very proud that, through hard work and commitment to serve , I have gained the trust and respect of all seniors I have met and cared for.

1) I am compassionate and caring, always seeking opportunities to aid My clients. They can enjoy, and experience everyday activities and things that matter most in their ever-changing life. 2) My Father needed help beyond what my Mother were physical able to provide for him. It made me more compassionate to helping him, and others. 3) When the Family and Client feel, the pressure of not knowing that there is hope for their love ones to be happy again, I can help put a smile on their face again. 4) That I have been fortunate to work in different States with different Clients, and to have had great experience, and great relationship with them and their families.
