I have always held an affinity for the elderly. As a child, I spent much time with my Grandmother and Aunt, and loved visiting the seniors in the neighborhood. I studied Gerontology in college, and have worked with the elderly in many facets. I have been a Nurse's Aide, and an Assistant Activities Director. I have worked as a Counselor in a group home serving mentally ill elders, and within medical settings serving diverse populations. Within the past decade plus, I have provided private care, including my own family members- near and dear to my heart. I understand the needs of our elders (and ourselves.) I understand first hand, how hard it is to watch a loved one decline. I know how physically and emotionally exhausting it can be. It is more than okay to ask for help and to accept that help.
