There is a level of trust and respect that needs to be nurtured between the caregiver and the person for whom l am caring. As CNAs, it is my responsibility to both earn that and convince the medical field at large to listen to what we have to say about the people for whom l care. When l notice changes in behavior or diet or if their moods are "off", it is often dismissed. At least in my experience. This needs to change and that is no small feat but it is a challenge to which I am very committed. l am honest, compassionate, caring and always on time.
