About Carol

Entering the medical industry via caregiving in 2006, I realized that I had been guided to the career that was always an innate part of me. I have always had empathy for others, even as a child. I began caregiving in late 2006 after becoming a volunteer for Little Brothers of the Elderly in 1997. I worked for Home Instead from 2006 to 2009. With them, I cared for several clients in different areas of the city. I was an overnight caregiver at one point for approximately 6 months. I left there and moved on to the surgical unit of North Shore University Health Systems. I worked there for approximately 4 years, as a patient care technician, where I assisted the nursing staff in caring for patients with factures and multiple kinds of surgeries. Currently, I am employed as a CNA for The Admiral at the Lake. It is an independent living/assisted living/skilled nursing/rehab facility. I work in Assisted Living. There, the residents require minimal ADL. I am responsible for assisting the needs of residents on 3 floors that have approximately 15 residents on each. I work overnight, therefore I am not overwhelmed because most of the residents retire early and sleep all night long.
