I am a mom of 3 grown boys, I became a nursing assistant 15 years ago. I got into this line of work when I got divorced, I was living out of country as my husband is in the military. I could not find work, so I decided to go to school for certified nursing assistant. I am proud to say that for being a single mom, I have been able to continue my education, and manage my family. I have been to school three times now, because I believe that you can never learn enough. I am a part time meal site manager for old colony elderly services, and even though I do make a difference helping people. I miss the hands on with taking care of people. Knowing that I make a difference in someone's life makes me smile. I have sat with people when they have been scared, waiting for an ambulance, or in their final days, just to give them comfort.
