I am 22 years old and have 3 years experience caring for other people. I decided I wanted to care for people when I wound up having to care for my father after he had major surgery. I loved it. I ran errands, prepared his bathing equipment, prepared his meals, helped him around the house, accompanied him to appointments and sat and kept him company. It was a beautiful bonding experience and it was very rewarding for me. I plan on going to nursing school in the Boston area in the Fall of 2016. My goal is to become a OB/GYN clinic nurse, or help women who cannot afford the mainstream healthcare in impoverished countries. I believe everyone deserves the care they need, regardless of finances. Too many caregivers are "business only." I am empathetic, understanding, laid back and dedicated. I am punctual, reliable, good with communication and know how to get around. I care about my patients. I am not just business. I know much of the support patients need is emotional/companionship. I take this very seriously. While I am not currently certified or have a nursing degree, I do have rescue training and am trained and certified in First Aid, AED and CPR, and get rectified every 2 years. I have basic medical skills such as checking vitals, administering medication, and have taught myself some massage therapy. I love music, reading, crime dramas, animals and cooking. I like to listen to people talk, tell stories and share their ideas. I am intellectual, outgoing and confident. I know what I want to do with my life, which I believe is rare at my age. I make myself available when someone is in need, and I am happy to do it. I have been chosen for respectable jobs with generous pay over individuals who held certifications and degrees, simply due to my qualities. I hope that you can look past my age and see that I am just as capable and qualified as those who have been through school and training. If you put your faith in me, I promise it will not be misplaced.
Caregivers that work non-full-time jobs or irregular shifts can negotiate extra compensation in addition to their standard hourly wage.
