I started companion/caregiving when an acquaintance of my mother needed help in Palm Beach, Florida. I worked for her, part-time, live-out, for over two years. It was rewarding and fulfilling, and I helped her with everything in her life, until she passed away. I also took care of my mother in the last years of her life, dealing with her Kidney failure and the awful issues that accompany that condition. It was a honor to be with her so much and return the love she had always given to me. Three years ago my own husband had a series of strokes. I have been his sole caregiver ever since. I have helped him with everything needed to live, including 'Brain games" to help his memory. He has made significant progress in all areas; I am comfortable to leave him. Companion care is what I was meant to do. I understand the issues of aging and disability and I know of the loss of self-respect when frailty takes over. I respect the beauty of living a long time, and the wisdom and judgement that goes with that achievement. I am college-educated, I live in West Hollywood. I am the mother of two grown sons, both now married, and I am the grandmother of a two-year-old grandson and a newborn grand-daughter. For many years, I curated and managed my husband's art and photography. I responded to inquires on the website (www.lensteckler.com), I showed his work to perspective buyers, I worked with galleries and dealers, and curated exhibitions. I am reliable, organized, and compassionate.
