While working, our parents on both sides of our family became ill with different diseases such as COPD, cancer and Alzheimer's disease. (Thankfully not all at the same time).Although stressful, I was very fortunate to have a flexible schedule enough so I could take care of them for some of the time and enjoy our time together. We also had to rely on outside care as well and there were times it was very challenging, but also when it was the right person it was wonderful and we were so grateful. I thought it would be a very rewarding second career for me as I enjoy helping out and know I can make a difference not only for the client but for the family as well.
