About Mitchell'e

I became a Caregiver when I realized how rewarding it felt to care for someone else. I was introduced to a wonderful elderly gentleman looking for someone to take care his wife. The relationship between the three of us flourished. The wife began to respond to daily care, personal hygiene, dressing, conversations, etc. I found we both had a lot in common; old movies, sewing, cooking, and dancing. The husband became very comfortable knowing there was someone he could trust in his home to take care of his wife. This relationship, in addition to others, is why I became a Caregiver. Being a Caregiver is about Compassion for others, looking out for someone else's needs besides your own. It's about Passion, being passionate about what you're doing and knowing that you are making a difference in a persons' life regardless of their age. Committed to the task, commited to the client, committed to learn something new everyday, comitted to developing a lasting relationship even if it's only for a short time. Companionship, I found everyone needs companionship in their life , especially the elderly. I have made it my mission to connect with those that I am responsible to take care of on a daily basis. This is what I like about being a Caregiver. One of my personal achievements I am proud of was receiving the Baltimore City Citation Award for Community Service, a recognition of serving the community for feeding the less fortunate, assisting those in need of summer jobs, and helping in the

I decided to become a caregiver about 12 years ago while caring for my 86 year old father. He had several medical issuses some include... COPD, seizures, stoke dementia etc. After his passing i realize how important it was to able to care for those who are unable to care for themselves. I also realize we may all be face with the need of someone to assist us with ADLs, errands and so forth one day. It brings me joy knowing I've helped someone continue to enjoy a quality life despite their limitation. I currently hold a CNA certification I'm a easy-going, compassionate, funloving a little quite at times self motivated and a serious minded female. My passion is to help others make the most out of their life.

I am a compassionate, trustworthy, and professional Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) who provides hourly and live-in care to seniors of all ages and ailments. For the past 15 years, I have dedicated my life to providing quality care to the elderly and others who have expressed their interest in my services. I am familiar with all aspects of patient care and have extensive experience in caring for patients with advanced illnesses such as: Dementia, Alzheimer's and Parkinson. In addition to providing care to these illnesses, I also provide the following services: Respite care, Hospice care, Incontinence care, Stroke care, Diabetes care, post-Hospital care and all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). In 2004, I re-focused my career into health care by becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and acquiring my State License for both Virginia and Maryland. The decision to go into this field came about after my granddaughter was born and I made the decision to become her Caregiver. I cared for her from birth until her mother made the decision to enroll her in a day care program, and at which time, I decided to focus my attention on taking care of others and joining the Nursing Profession. Because of my past job experiences as a Caregiver and a Senior Care Provider, which I combined with my course work, I am very confident that I can provide excellent services to all clients. I have enhanced my ability to providing compassionate and dedicated care to others and have worked diligently to provide excellence in all my professional endeavors and, have earned a reputation for my results driven work ethic; I have also received frequent commendations from patients and their families for providing exceptional care and have received employee awards for dedication and performance as a caregiver, because caring for others has always been my passion since childhood.
