About Katherine

The number one most important thing is to be honest and making sure you are happy and safe. My name is Katherine I go by Katie. I have a family who we have a lot of health conditions examples are COPD, diabetes, depression, anxiety blood clots, cancer. My father suffered from COPD and blood clots and before his passing he had found out that he had cancer on his lower lung. I provided services for my father made sure he made it to all his doctor's appointment and any medication or any care he needed I did for him. Growing up my whole childhood I have always found myself closer to senior citizens and children with disabilities. Being able to help them in any kind of way just to put a smile on their face makes me feel good. When I was a little girl and my mother took me on an MTA bus an elderly lady could barely stand and nobody would offer her seat I got up and told her to sit in my seat she was very amazed that someone so young would help when the bus was filled with so many more people. I talked to her the the whole ride she and I talked about things that we like to do and she told me that I was very kind and should help seniors out when I get older. She asked me for my address which my mother wrote down a few years after that I received a letter from her in the mail till this day I still have that. My number one thing is to make people happy I enjoy spending time and learning new things and hearing stories. My goal is to earn a relationship between my client and I provide the best services because I am looking for something long-term. Also I want to help your family as much as I can because I know from experience of my father and other family members it can be tough but I am here to help.

I became a caregiver because I believe it is in my nature and I am compassionate about helping others. I like being a caregiver because no matter how hard I may work or how my day is going, it doesn't feel like work. I would like to help others by doing what I like. I am a mother of four, very energetic and friendly. I recently left my position full time for a major dialysis company in downtown Baltimore and have been in healthcare for a while and started working for Catholic Charities in May 2017, part time on the weekends. I am hoping to start nursing school fall 2017 and would prefer to work overnight Monday thru Wednesday or Thursday but I have open availability and flexibility with my schedule. My personal achievements that I'm honestly most proud of are my children. I am a Certified Nursing Assitant and Cettified Medication Technician through the Maryland Board of Nursing. I am also CPR and First Aid certified.
