I am an honest, reliable, respectable nursing student trying to use my certified nursing assistant skills to improve the lives of those around me. A person's quality of life is important to improve or maintain, as this serves as the basis for their mental health. I strive to provide proper care and provide emotional support to each and every individual that I encounter. I am familiar with the nursing environment as I was a C.N.A. for over a year on the Palliative/Renal/Oncology unit at Meritus Medical Center. I have knowledge and experience with caring for those with Parkinsons, ALS, Alzheimers/dementia, depression, substance use disorders, mobility limitations and paralysis, post-surgical needs, disorders of varying systems, and much more. Not only do I have knowledge and experience from being a C.N.A., I am also a junior in the Shepherd University Nursing program. I will graduate in May 2020 with my B.S.N. Although I cannot complete the actions of a nurse without the supervision of my instructor, I have the knowledge base to improve patient care further and to ensure tasks are being completed properly.
