I have always had a soft spot for the elderly since I was a kid selling Avon and sat talking to someone who wanted to show off their salt n pepper sets! This past year I have spent with a couple who are both 89 years. Thelma had a stroke and required a lot of in home physical therapy which I learned, along with giving her massages. I consider the physical therapy and massage side of this job to be of particular achievement. I fixed all her n husband's meals, did laundry and accompanied her to all doctors, especially to help her in the bathroom. We had a daily routine of showering, dressing and makeup to make her feel good. She is a writer, so I typed up her articles, editing along the way. I have a good sense of humor and would often cheer her up. Sometimes I would give her manicures n do some plucking, whatever was asked! I'm a people person who is not shy to know new folks. I have worked the front desk of a medical office and generally enjoy the public.
