What makes me a good caregiver is the fact that I was a nurse for forty years. I love working with people of all ages and all ethnicities. I am now retired. But I'm looking for work in a field I am experienced in; to supplement my income. I have also worked as a nurse consultant in a group home for mentally and physically handicapped patients. I have worked as a nurse in a jail and a prison caring for sick, drug addicted and mentally ill prisoners. I worked ten years as a EMT on the DC Fire department. I greatly improved my emergency skills as a nurse/EMT. I retired in 2014. Now I prefer to work one on one.
