About Sheila

I took care of my grandmother years ago when she was diagnosed with cancer, it alway's stuck in my mind to do this for more Elderly people. I like being a caregiver because I feel good if I can help someone else's day a bit brighter. I used to live in Florida in the 1990's, and I trained or CNA/HHA and Medical Assisting. I have cared for many elderly people and I feel it a \\"special calling\\", to be a part of that care in their latter life. I am a 59 year old Mom, Grandmom and Caregiver. I just recently cared for a 91 year old dear lady who just recently her family decided it best to move her into a Nursing home. I am sad to see her go, but I feel it was her time to transition to advanced care her family chose for her and now it is my time to seek other Elderly in need. Also since March 2016, I've been caring for a elderly couple, initially it was only for the wife, but for the last few months the husband needs assistance as well. UPDATE: The husband did pass in Oct. 2017, two months after his wife, he was diagnosed with cancer and went downhill quickly, had hospice care and passed peacefully in his home. I do have reliable transportation and good references. :)

I'm caring for a couple that is transitioning to Hospice care. The wife has cancer and the husband is failing with other issues. I realize I will not be working much longer there. I take care of the wifes personal hygiene care, meals, conversation, trying to cheer her up because of course she's depressed not able to walk anymore and now her cancer is progressing. I do light housekeeping, laundry, meals and I used to be a licensed hairdresser so I have given the couple haircuts and a perm for the Mrs. The Mr. loved to talk and have good conversation, which I loved to help them smile :) UPDATE!...Sorry to say the husband passed away last October 2017, only 2 months after his wife. He had a fall and was taken to the hospital where he was diagnosed with cancer and went downhill fast, had hospice care where he peacefully passed in his home.

I cared for her ADL's every day.(Activities of daily living). Her son Bruce is a good reference to contact for the care I did for his Mom.
