I became a care giver because I wanted to help those in need and feel as though I am making a difference for them. I like being able to relieve the discomfort of those whom I am helping and knowing that I did my best as though I were doing this for myself or a family member. I am particularly proud of the fact that I have gone through some personal health trials and have come out of them more aware and compassionate towards other as a result. I am a mother of four and have been hospitalized and bed ridden for each of them during my pregnancy. This has made me very understanding of how it is to be in the vulnerable position o f patient and yet I am also much more aware and educated about the health field and the role of patient and caregiver both. I am a good caregiver because of my experiences as CNA in most of the hospital wards as a float pool/registry employee and as a patient myself in a few departments. I take pride in doing my job well and maintaining their dignity as well as communicating with them so as to keep their interests and spirits up.
