About Renee

I have been a caregiver for 20 years, I got into this work just trying to help out a friend and I enjoyed it so much that I never stopped doing it! I have found it to be very rewarding, it feels good to be there for others and have the ability to make positive difference in their life. I think we all deserve to have someone there to help us when we need it, we all deserve kindness, compassion, empathy, patience, and understanding. I very much enjoy providing others with all of these. I have experience, and am comfortable with a wide range of medical conditions, and am able to provide basic assistance and reminders all the way up to complete physical assistance with all needs. I work well with dementia/Alzheimer's residents, am very familiar with diabetic needs, comfortable with assisting with transfers and mobility (and always do so with safety in mind), experience with catheter and ostomy/stoma, tube feeding, hoyer and sit to stand lifts, and much more. I always try to anticipate the needs of my residents and make sure they are met in a timely manner. I enjoy getting to know them, and doing little things that I know will brighten their day. I truly love what I do and try to do everything I can to help enhance their quality of life and maintain a sense of independence. I am extremely dependable and punctual, have a strong work ethic, carry myself with integrity, and consider myself to have high morals, ethics, and standards. I am able to follow directions, do things the way I'm asked to and not just the way I would like to do them, and strongly believe in doing the job I'm being paid to do. I have received full vaccination for COVID-19.

Experience & Education

Manager

Dec 2016 - Present
Hummingbird Senior Care
I started as a Caregiver with this company and quickly received a promotion to Supervisor. I was promoted to Manager after about a year, a position I still hold. I have continued to work the floor as a Caregiver from the beginning, my love for this keeps me from giving it up. So along with handling the day to day operations of the home, I fill in for shifts where needed, cover shifts when needed, jump in to assist the other Caregivers when needed, and assist the residents whenever they approach me for help. When working the floor I give complete care, taking care of all ADLs, prepare and serve meals, assist with eating/drinking as needed, assist with walking and/or range of motion exercises, medication administration, check vitals as needed, complete activities with the residents, complete household chores and deep cleaning, laundry, and complete all documentation and charting that is required. I am currently working here part time/contingent as the company has faced some hardships due to COVID-19. I worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic to ensure my residents and staff stayed safe and healthy, following all guidelines and rules put in place by the health department, state, and CDC. I was able to put everything I could think of in place to ensure the residents maintained communication with their loved ones, it was a difficult time all around but I was very proud of the way our team came together and put in the extra work and effort to keep our residents healthy and happy.
