When the restaurant I previously worked at closed I was about eight months pregnant. So I decided to refrain from getting another job so I could stay home and care for my son. My son was diagnosed with autism when he was around two years old. Now he is settled into his ABA and other therapies and I would love to join the workforce again. I have never been paid as a caregiver but I do have some experience in this field. I lost my grandfather to cancer and my grandmother to dementia. I cared for them both through their battles. I've helped care for other family members and close friends going through the same or similar things. I have always enjoyed caring for people. One of my favorite hobbies is cooking and I love sharing my creations with others. I'm a great listener and love talking to just about anyone. I've been told I never meet a stranger. I have been thinking about a career change and was considering going into hospice work as my experience with the hospice that helped with my grandparents truly warmed my heart. I thought being a caregiver would give me a start in the right direction.
