My name is Ta'Asia I am 26 years old I have been doing caregiver work for about 8 years. I started doing caregiver work when I was 19 years old and I fell in love with it, and I have been doing it ever since. What attracted me to being a caregiver was my great grandmother. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's when I was about 9 or 10, so growing up I would help my aunt with things like bathing,dressing , and feeding her, helping her into the car and things like that. She could do a lot of the things on her own she just need a little assistance and that's where I would step in. I got so much enjoyment from doing those small things. I would always tell my aunt when I get older i'm going to have a place for all elderly people to come live and have people there to help them. (I just didn't know those places already existed). So as I got older I still wanted to help out elderly people and that's when I got my first job at a assistance living and I loved it. I enjoy being a caregiver because for me its more then just a job, when you are working with these people they because your family, you care for them like you would your own family. I want to see them be nothing more then happy and take away as much of their stress as you can and it as easy for them as possible. That make my job so much better and makes me so happy when I see me being with them makes them feel better, makes them happy and not making life harder on them. I really just love being there for them and feeling like i'm making a difference in their lives and that's enough for me.
