I'm a great caregiver because I love what I do. I pay attention to details and listen to the clients to learn more about their needs, likes and dislikes. I became a caregiver when my own mother fell ill, I took care of her until she passed away in her own home. I found out there was a real need for caregivers and have been working as one since 1999. I learned that the clients were not the only ones who benefited, I too benefit from this line of work. What I like most about caregiver is being a bright spot in thier day, having them feel at ease with me and listening to some great stories because they been there done that. I believe one of my greatest achievements has to do with a gentleman who had a stroke and was bed ridden. All he wanted to do was to be able to get up and walk to the bathroom to do his business. I told him if he would exercise with me everyday perhaps we could get him there. We started with range of motion then received some exercises from a physical therapist he was walking to the bathroom within 3 months.
