I became a caregiver about 10 years ago when my Mom was sick and was put in hospice care. She needed 24 hour care. Both my parents were living with us at the time. I left my Retail Management career to stay home and care for my mom. After she passed away, my dad bbecome ill and I continued to stay home and care for him. Although I have 10 years of experience of everything from compainionship, bathing, cooking, and performing dialysis, at this time I'm looking for more of a companionship type situation. Assisting in grocery shopping, running errands, accompanying to dr. Appts. Etc. The 10 years of heavy lifting has taken a toll on my back. And I find that a lot of seniors are just lonely and need assistance in the everyday duties of life to keep them living independently and having them feel like a whole person. At 51 years of age I feel I have found my calling and enjoy helping the elderly live out a happy life.
